OKAHANDJA MEDICAL CENTRE
Okahandja Medical Centre has been serving the community since 1994, growing alongside the town to become a vital healthcare hub for Okahandja and surrounding rural areas. As demand increased, the Centre expanded its staff and services, eventually relocating in 2012 to a modern complex in the town center.
Today, the Centre is home to five full-time general practitioners, supported by a comprehensive team including a pharmacy, optometrist, physiotherapist, X-ray and lab services, dentist, as well as allied health professionals such as a psychologist and dietician.
To extend its reach, a Satellite Practice opened in 2014 at Okahandja Mall, staffed by a full-time GP. In 2022, a dedicated Skin Clinic was added there, led by Dr. Camantha Brinkman, featuring the Optiphi/Delta Skin Range.
In 2025, the Mall Practice has now moved back to our Town premises, consolidating all services in one central location. This move allows the Centre to provide upgraded consultation rooms, enhanced facilities, and streamlined access to specialists and support services under one roof.
Further enhancing services, a state-of-the-art Operating Theatre and Day Hospital launched in 2016—the first in Okahandja—followed by an overnight ward in 2020 offering 24/7 care. Visiting specialists and local practitioners continue to provide essential procedures and treatment.
Now fully operational again, the Centre continues to provide critical healthcare and emergency services to the growing Okahandja community, including the new Osona Village.
