About Dr.

Dr. Johan de Beer is a highly experienced and committed medical practitioner with over four decades of hands-on clinical expertise. He earned his MBChB degree from the University of Pretoria in 1979 and completed his compulsory national service from 1981 to 1982 in Opuwo, Kaokoland, where he provided essential healthcare to remote and underserved communities.

In 1983, he began working in private practice in Kempton Park, South Africa, where he strengthened his foundation in family medicine and patient-centered care. Dedicated to ongoing professional growth, he has completed numerous Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and specialized training, including an HIV management course in 2002.

In October 1997, Dr. de Beer permanently relocated to Namibia and joined Okahandja Medical Practice – then a flourishing two-man GP practice. Over the years, he became a pillar of the practice, working in consecutive partnerships with five other general practitioners and playing a central role in building it into the thriving medical centre it is today.

With 42 years of experience, Dr. de Beer remains deeply passionate about medicine and continues to provide compassionate, knowledgeable, and dependable care to his patients, ensuring that the legacy of Okahandja Medical Centre continues to grow.
