Monique Van Alphen

Dr. Monique van Alphen is a highly dedicated and compassionate medical professional with a special interest in paediatrics and child care. Graduating with an MBChB degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Namibia in 2017, she has since built a robust career in healthcare, initially honing her skills during her internship at Windhoek Central Hospital and Intermediate Hospital Katutura from 2018 to 2020 where she gained hands-on experience in emergency medicine, paediatrics, surgery, obstetrics, and more.

Her deep passion for children has led her to pursue further experience in the paediatric field whereby she worked as a medical officer in the Department of Paediatrics from 2021 to 2023. Here she led pediatric care for inpatient and outpatient cases, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams while being trained by leading paediatricians in Namibia.

Dr. van Alphen currently serves as a General Practitioner at Okahandja Medical Practice since 2023, where she focuses on family care and paediatrics. With a commitment to continuous learning, she completed a Postgraduate Program in Paediatric Nutrition (PGPN PRO) through Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine in 2024. Her compassionate approach to patient care, coupled with a strong academic background and practical experience, makes her a trusted healthcare provider for both children and families.
