X-Ray Facilities

At Okahandja Medical Centre, we provide a range of diagnostic imaging services to support accurate and timely healthcare. Our on-site X-ray facilities allow for standard X-rays of the chest, limbs, and abdomen with results typically available within one to one and a half hours. We also offer sonars and ultrasounds, supported by a visiting sonographer from Windhoek who conducts these studies weekly. For mammography, we coordinate with our main imaging centre in Windhoek to ensure patients have access to quality breast imaging services.

Walk-ins are welcome for standard X-rays during our regular hours, making it easy for patients to access urgent or routine imaging when needed. For sonars, ultrasounds, CT scans, and mammograms, appointments are required to ensure careful scheduling and high-quality service. Our team is committed to helping patients navigate their imaging needs with clear instructions and flexible scheduling where possible.

We prioritize prompt processing of imaging studies. X-ray results are typically ready within 1 to 1.5 hours and are sent directly to the referring doctor, while sonar and ultrasound reports are generally available within a couple of days. Patients can also request copies of their results if needed, supporting open communication and informed healthcare decisions.

Our imaging department is open Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM, and closed on weekends and public holidays. However, we remain available for emergency imaging after hours, ensuring patients receive essential diagnostic support whenever it’s needed.
